Spreading the Gospel of Jesus
Christ
Around the World
February 2000
Dear Internet friends and supporters,
We
would like to thank you for your support in prayers to help us reach Hong Kong
and China with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Chinese New Years has just
finished here, February 4th to the 7th. Everything comes to a stop, the stories
and food markets are closed and everyone visited their families and friends. The
fireworks in our village were so loud and many that it sounded as if World War
Three had started. Our Sheung Shui, church had services on Monday, to give the
people that went into china time to return and worship with us. Carol and I were
blessed as we able to be in service on Sunday and Monday. In these pictures are
some of the young people sharing in the service the last of December. Another
group of the youth, sharing in Song and Praise, can be seen in the center
picture.
We
are so glad that our Chinese pastor and elder's return from China with a good
report, before I ministered the message. They spent four days, in ShenZhen,
China with a meeting at the hotel, and then went to visit a government office,
of which last year the head official became a Believer in Christ. On the fifth
floor if I understood correctly they covered the windows with paper so no one
could see in, and call the police, they had services and the Lord did bless.
Thank you, again for your prayers that our beloved people made it back to Hong
Kong safely, since many Chinese pastors have been jailed for teaching in the
underground Churches. The folks in China loved the tape of the music from our
church here. This was a wonderful way to start the Chinese New Year.
God has blessed and now I have the Chinese Bible setup so I can print verses
in Chinese characters.

Carol and I have been asked to attend the national conference in Cebu,
Philippines, May 16-19, 2000. I would like to be able to repair some of the
Churches that we started there. Pray that I can arrange my services here in Hong
Kong, for this trip. Many have asked us to come, since we helped organize the
Philippines Ministerial Association. I have been informed that there are now
nearly 1,000 places of worship and still growing from this work that Carol and I
helped start. We spent Nineteen years training the ministers and leaders before
moving to Taiwan and China. This is, now our Eleventh year here in Hong Kong,
and our 17 year in China.
The
picture here is our members giving sister Carol a birthday gift, in
December.
Yours truly in Jesus,
Raymond and Carol Knapp
